Understanding insurance can be a little confusing and scary at times. If you’re Jensen Insurance Agency’s Ryan Bak, you do everything you can to make the insurance process as painless as possible. “My customers often tell me how comforting it is for them to know their insurance agent is just a quick phone call away, I do my best to be available and knowledgeable when they need me,” says Ryan.

Born and raised in Beresford, Ryan is a Business Management graduate of the University of South Dakota. In August 2013, Ryan opened the Jensen Insurance Agency office in Sioux Falls. The Jensen Agency was founded by Victor Jensen and has operated continuously in the Beresford area since 1944. Ryan has a keen understanding of the needs of people in South Dakota and plans to bring the stability and experience of the Jensen Agency, along with a small town understanding of service, to the larger community of Sioux Falls. Says Bak, “After meeting countless people in the Sioux Falls area, and visiting with them about their insurance needs, I was amazed to hear how many people don’t even know who their agent is or when was the last time they talked to them.” He adds , “At the Jensen Insurance Agency, we pride ourselves upon giving every customer the proper attention and service that they deserve.”

Ryan previously worked for the Washington National Insurance Company and has recently been selected to participate in the prestigious State Auto PaceSetter Program. Only 100 agents nationwide are selected to take part in this program each year. “I learned early in my career that insurance is a relationship business, and I love to meet new people and nurture old relationships that will last a lifetime.” Ryan continues a Jensen Agency tradition of multiple generations in the business; Ryan’s uncle, Brad Bak, has been with the Jensen Agency for nearly 30 years.

From the Sioux Falls office, Ryan will handle all lines of insurance including home, auto, life, health, and business insurance.

Ryan and his wife, Rachael, a physical therapist at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, were married in 2011 and make their home in Sioux Falls. They have four children, Phoenix, Hadley, Brooks and Reece. Both Ryan and Rachael enjoy fishing. Ryan is an avid hunter and also enjoys playing baseball, golf, and basketball.
